I got it finished!!!

My bowl rack, that is!! LOL!!! I have been wanting a bowl rack forever but didn't trust myself to get it right. Well, Char posted a very easy tutorial that I printed immediately and headed for my workshop. Put my stain on it last night and tonight it is proudly hanging in my kitchen. Still need to get some more bowls but I would be happy if it was empty!!! I love it!! Thanks Char!!! Now, I gotta get back to working on my TS finds from Williamsburg.

If anyone has any time for sale, I would be happy to purchase it. Twenty four hours is just not enough for me to do everything I need, want and have to do!!! He-He!! Chatty Kathy

LOOKIE WHAT I GOT!!!!

I was part of an Americana Swap that Char at The Pickled Pepper Patch hosted and my goody box arrived today. Well, I was fortunate enough to have Char, the Queen of Tutorials,as my partner. Need I say more? You ladies who follow Char's blog know what I mean. You are gonna see what I found as I opened the box and be just as surprised as I was. Are you ready?? Here goes........

First thing I saw was a sweet little note from Char...

Next, this wonderful America sign...

and next, WOW, look at this plate...

Are you ready for more? OK, how about a set of three boxes all primmed to perfection...

Next, a bag of rose hips and cinnamon sticks plus a bag of firecrackers that will no doubt be perfect in my boxes...

OK, let's see what else is in this box....Oh, look a Liberty ornie, love it...

Hmmmm, I smell something wonderful, oh my, a big bundle of primmed red, white and blue silicone lights with cucumber/melon scent. I wish you could smell these. Just scratch and sniff and maybe that will work!! LOL!!!

Goodness, how much more can fit in this box!! I still see a couple more items so I'm digging deeper into the box and pull out this red and white towel which is perfect for my kitchen...

And last, but certainly, not least is a set of three extremely primitive paper mache boxes...

I feel like I have won a lottery!!! Look at what a box full of goodies she sent!!! Char, THANK YOU SO VERY MUCH, for everything. I am truly honored to have had you for my partner!! This swap was tons of fun and I look forward to the next one.

Gotta go put my goodies on display!! I am so excited!!! Yippeeee!! Chatty Kathy

TS finds from Williamsburg.....

Hubby and I had a great time scouring through the thrift stores in Williamsburg. A couple that we went to were for the Children's Hospital and we found a just a couple of items in each. The best one was for the Disabled American Veterans and when we pulled in the parking lot we had to ride to find a parking space. There were lots of people!!! We found several items there.

Hopefully, I will get these redone in a few days. I have basecoated a few items in black (of course) already but still need to put on my topcoat, sand and stain. Since I am back at work full time, I just have a little time at night to get any painting done. My granddaughter is playing in an All Star Softball league so that takes up some time and last night I was at the fire department helping pick out new wall color for them to paint. I've been asked to coordinate home wall colors but never a fire department so that was a little different. LOL!!!

Oh, does anybody know what the item in the very front is? My grandson told me he thought it was some kind of marble game but I have no idea. I took it apart and thought about using it as an egg holder but not sure. Any ideas??

Anyway, I'll get some after pictures posted when I'm done. Have a great day and thanks for stopping by!! Hugs, Chatty Kathy

I need a vacation from vacation.....

LOL! We had a wonderful time in Williamsburg, Virginia. We stayed on the go much of the time visiting Busch Gardens, Water Park and Colonial Williamsburg plus all the shopping around. We hit a couple of thrift stores and I got some good items to redo. I will post those in a day or so.

My favorite shop in Williamsburg is American Harvest. Cindy has great items and her decorating is fantastic. I look forward to visiting her each year and just browsing through the store. We went there three or four times and I see something new each time I go in. If you have a chance to visit, you won't be disappointed!!

On our way home, we took a detour and stopped in Apex, NC at The Rusty Bucket. WOW!! I haven't seen a primitive shop like that in a long time. I will definitely visit again. Go through the doors and you step back in time. The shopkeeper is Pam and she makes you feel very welcome. I love everything she has in that shop!! Be sure and check out the appliances in the kitchen area....OMG!! Fantastic!! They were awarded the 2007 Retailer of the Year and I can definitely see why.

OK, I'll post my TS finds later. Gotta head out to work!! Hugs,
Chatty Kathy

Why does life get hectic.....

when you are getting ready to go on vacation? I'll admit, it is my fault for waiting until the last minute to get items together. It just seems that no matter how hard I plan my schedule to have the time to get everything ready, there is still never enough time. So, we are leaving Saturday morning and right now I am washing clothes, cleaning house (I cannot come home to a mess, it would ruin my vacation!), cooking a snack mix that my dear son requested, packing food, toys, favorite blanket and leash for my min pin, Pumpkin, since she is staying next door with my daughter, packing for myself (hubby packs his own clothes) and getting a few more snacks to take along for the ride. Also, want to get something together to craft on while riding. Think I might get my crocheting out, haven't done that in a while and it would be easy to throw in a tote and carry along. I am hoping a couple of my magazines will arrive tomorrow so I can read them front to back a couple of times!! Love my Mercantile Gathering and I think it went out last week so I'm keeping my fingers crossed that at least that one gets here.

We will vacation in Williamsburg, Virginia and take the grandkids to Busch Gardens, water park and Colonial Williamsburg. We go to Williamsburg every year but haven't been to Busch Gardens in about three years so they are ready to go back. My son and daughter in law are going also so this should be a wonderful vacation. My daughter and son in law usually go but won't be able to make it this time. They will be going to Florida in August with us though.

My snack mix is ready to come out of the oven so off I go. Thanks for coming by!! Be back soon.....Chatty Kathy
