How time flies....

when you are having fun!!! Fun? Hmmmm, not sure about that. Since coming back from vacation, work has been very, very busy. I'm not complaining, I am thankful I have a job but there doesn't seem to be time for anything else.

We are having a tag sale next weekend at the antique mall and took a load yesterday. Sold two chairs while we were there so that paid the rent. Hopefully, the rest will sell. If not, it is going to a local thrift store run by hospice. I refuse to bring it back home!!!

I have also been working on swap items for the fall swap put together by Char at The Pickled Pepper Patch. Can't show you what I am doing since my partner may stop by!! LOL!!

I've also been working on a couple other items. I will try and post pictures later this week. It's too dark now to take any.

I hope everyone has a wonderful week. Remember that some of our blog friends have a special need and could really benefit from an extra prayer. Take care!! Love and hugs to all~~Chatty Kathy

This is what we woke up to each morning.....

while in Daytona Beach. I could get used to that really quick!! LOL!! Next is a shot of my grandaughter and the sand castles she and a couple of our friends made. The guys really wanted to play in the sand, I think Shelby was just an excuse...

And I course, I have to post a picture of my grandson...his first trip to the beach and he wasn't a happy camper in the sand....

I won't bore you with more pictures although I have lots!! We did have a great time and can't wait till next year!!

My hubby's birthday is tomorrow. He is working tonight so I went ahead a baked him a cake. Shhh, don't tell him, it's a surprise!!! This cake is delicious and easy to make. I'll post the recipe if you would like to give it a try.

BLACKBERRY WINE CAKE

1/2 cup chopped pecans
1 pkg white cake mix
1 3-oz pkg blackberry or raspberry gelatin
1/2 cup vegetable oil
1/2 cup blackberry wine (buy the cheap kind)
4 large eggs

Preheat oven to 350. Grease a tube or bundt pan. Sprinkle nuts evenly on bottom of pan. In large bowl, blend cake mix, gelatin, oil, wine and eggs on low for about one minute. Increase speed to med-high and beat for five minutes.

Pour batter into prepared pan. Bake 45-50 minutes or until top is brown and sides have come away from pan.

While cake bakes, make glaze:

1/2 cup butter, melted and cooled
1/2 cup blackberry wine
2 cups confectioners sugar, sifted

Combine melted, cooled butter with wine. Gradually stir in powered sugar until mixture is smooth.

Remove cake from oven and pierce entire surface with deep holes. Pour glaze over hot cake. Let cool.

Enjoy!!! Chatty Kathy

Heading home.....

from sunny Florida. We left at 5:30 this morning and are in Georgia as I post this. Had to cut vacation a few hours short when we received a call that a dear friend had passed away. Hubby will be a pallbear so we will be with the family for the next couple of days. I will post a few pictures of vacation later this weekend. I have tried to log on and keep up with what's happening with my blog friends but I think I am waaayyy behind. You gals love posting!!! Not complaining 'cause I love reading what you are up to, however, the grandchildren were not very patient when I was on the computer so I had to cut it short and go play in the pool. I know, tough life, but someone had to do it!! LOL!! Hugs, Chatty Kathy

It's vacation time...almost

and Florida, here we come!!! We are leaving Friday for Daytona Beach with a stopover in Jacksonville to visit my Uncle. He has requested that we "bring all the peaches we can fit in the car" so Thursday we will visit our local peach farmer and load up. They will smell so good in the car!!! We take him a load of peaches every year and he keeps just a few for himself and gives away the rest to family, friends and neighbors. I haven't even had a peach this year so I plan to steal a couple out of those baskets for me!! LOL!!

I haven't packed anything yet. I say every year that I won't take as much this time but always pack way more than I need. We have a washer and dryer so it's not like I can't wash clothes if I run out. But I'll still take too much, it's just a habit of mine. Probably the next post will have pics of the ocean and sand and my grandson and granddaughter. First trip for my grandson so it will be fun seeing how he reacts to the sand and water. He has a little cold now so hopefully he will be feeling much better by Friday.

Anybody know of any great shops around Daytona Beach? I used to visit a shop called When Pigs Fly that was about 45 minutes away but she closed up four or five years ago. If you know of any, please let me know. I may go into withdrawals if I don't get my prim shopping fix. LOL!!! Have a great day and I'll see you soon!! Chatty Kathy

My mailbox was overflowing this week!!

Not only did I get my doll from Maureen, I got a package from my textile swap partner, Judy!!  Boy, did she load me up with some wonderful goodies.

Palmetto Prims gifts 001

I got this great sampler that says “Be it ever so humble there is no place like home”, a dish soap bottle cover, a hankie with crocheting on the corner (hard to see in this picture), a pillow that reads “North, South, East, West, no matter where, home is best” and a beautiful round lace table cover.  Oh, and also a hang up air freshener.  It was wrapped with tissue and had berry sprigs and a star pick and the sweetest card.  Judy, thank you from the bottom of my heart.  I love every piece!!!  Also, a big Thanks to Char for hosting another wonderful swap!!  If you don’t join in on her swaps, you are really missing out.

Isn’t she adorable?

Look at this wonderful beauty that I won from Maureen at Sweet Meadows Farm!  Palmetto Prims gifts 002

Those eyes just melt my heart!  Her dress fabric  matches my colors perfectly and I just love her.  Thank you Maureen!  You have been blessed with a God given talent!!!  Hugs, Chatty Kathy
