Sweet Lil' Goblins

Here is Spiderella......... Then we have Darth Vader.....

And, of course, the UPS man....What can brown do for you?
Of course, they got tons of candy from Nana's house!! We only had a few treaters this year so I got lots of candy left too. I think lots of families either went to the mall or some local churches that were doing the trunk or treat. The fire department that hubby is at did a drive thru but he said they really didn't have very many. I always enjoyed going trick or treating when I was growing up and my children had lots of fun going door to door but I guess with our uncertain world of today, parents have to be extra cautious with our little ones. Hope you had a good Halloween and no goblins got 'cha!!! Chatty Kathy

September 11, 2001.....

a day I will never forget. I could not believe what I was hearing as I listened to the radio nor could I believe what I was seeing on the television. Why? I didn't understand then and I don't understand now, why it all happened. Our country's loss of life on that day was beyond comprehension. The images on TV were devastating. I did not personally know anyone that died but my heart ached just the same. I cried uncontrollably. I could not stop watching and listening to all the stories. I especially wanted to hear about the firefighters that gave their life trying to save others. I'm proud of each and every one of them. I'm proud of my husband, a firefighter, who risks his life on every call he goes on. I took his profession for granted until 9/11. Not anymore.

God Bless our Country and God Bless the families that had loved ones so tragically taken away.

Always remember~Chatty Kathy

Rebecca's Thyme....

is a fabulous primitive shop located in Pigeon Forge, Tennessee!! The first picture is the shop and the second picture is me and Rebecca. I had the pleasure of spending some time meeting Rebecca and browsing through all her goodies last week. She is a terrific lady and we became friends immediately. Too bad for her that I was in a little T'bird!! I just wanted to pick the store up and bring it home!! Wonderful handmade items from very talented artists. If you are ever in the area, you must go see her. Also, check out Rebecca's website!!! Thanks to Rebecca for making my trip much more fun!!

This is the little bird I was in. As you can see, no room for goodies!!! Not to worry, I'm going back in my Explorer and shop, shop, shop!!!! Taking a few friends with me too!!

Here is a picture of the Old Mill in Pigeon Forge. Beautiful setting!!
There are lots of ducks in the river. Hard to see in this picture but there are a couple there. We had a great time and great weather. No rain!! We always enjoy the show and spending time with friends.
That's it for now!! Have a great day~Chatty Kathy

It's been forever since I updated this blog. Time has just slipped away from me and every day I would say "I'll get to it tomorrow"...well, tomorrow is finally here. Of course, it's midnight but I guess now is as good a time as any.

We have had a very busy summer. I started a new job that is suppose to be part time but it has turned into full time. Hasn't left me much time to do any sewing but I do have a couple of new items to list on Lemon Poppy Seeds for September 1st and also my ebay group SoATP is having a Halloween/Fall launch on September 1st that I will join in on. Fall is my favorite time of year so maybe the creating bug will bite and get me going again.

Have a safe and happy Labor Day weekend~~Chatty Kathy

MEMORIAL DAY......

.......a time for honoring all those who are fighting the battle to defend our freedom and honor our Country. From the bottom of my heart....THANK YOU...

.......a time for honoring all those men and women who have fought and come home. Some to a not so warm welcome and others to a hero's welcome. From the bottom of my heart...THANK YOU...

.......a time for remembering all our fallen soldiers who paid the ultimate price for defending our freedom. God Bless each and every one.

My brother, Kenneth Allen Mason, was one of those who paid the ultimate price in the Vietnam War. Only 20 years old, newly married and so much life to live.

This is a picture taken on September 17, 1968, the day he left the States. I was 12 years old when he left and didn't understand that he may not come home. It has taken a very long time and a lot of tears to grasp the sacrifice that he and so many others made to defend my freedom.

Thank a soldier and the family of a soldier for fighting for our country and giving us the freedom that we have. God Bless the USA!!! Happy Memorial Day to All~Chatty Kathy

God Bless My Mother....

In Loving Memory

Happy Mother's Day, Mom I never saw my Mom "grow old". She was just always Mom, never getting older, always the same. And I always thought she would be around. But, in the blink of an eye, she was gone. Always caring for others and not taking care of herself. If you needed her, she was there without question. She has come to my rescue more times than I can count. When her health started declining, it was like a roller coaster ride. Downhill really fast. She was in and out of the hospital for a couple of years and when we had to put my Dad in a nursing home, we decided to put them in the same room together. Mom's mind had gotten really bad and she couldn't understand why Daddy wouldn't get up out of the bed. Among other things, she pulled his feeding tubes out and we had to move her down the hall to another room so she couldn't hurt him. Not intentionally, of course. She doted on my Dad and they were married almost 58 years when my Dad passed away. One year and four days later my Mom joined my Dad. I miss them so much and I could kick myself for not spending more time with them. Instead, I was busy with what I wanted to do thinking my parents would always be around. But in the blink of an eye.......hmmmm, I love you Mom, Happy Mother's Day from the bottom of my heart~Kathy

Tagged by Lorraine!!!!

I am playing catch up as I was tagged several days ago by Lorraine of Pie Cake Primitives. Sorry it took me so long!!

This is fun and really neat. You come up with six words that sum up your life. Ernest Hemingway was bet $10. that he couldn't sum up his life in six words. He won that bet when he wrote, "For sale, baby shoes, never worn." You can go to Bookbabie's blog and read about the book that was inspired by his quote and how it influenced her to start this meme.

My words are.....Pay it forward, make someone's day!

Actually paying it forward, makes MY day!! It's fun to do something for someone you don't even know and turn that frown on someone's face upside down.

Okay here's Da Rules:

1. Write your own six word memoir
2. Post it on your blog and include a visual illustration if you’d like
3. Link to the person that tagged you in your post and to this original post if possible, so we can track it as it travels across the blogosphere
4. Tag five more blogs with links
5. Remember to leave a comment on the tagged blogs with an invitation to play!

Now I gotta tag 5, so let's see, how about.....

Shirley~Dumplin Ragamuffin
Erika~Erika's Cupboard
Kathy~Kittredge Mercantile
Kelly~Mystical Entities
Naomi~Naomi's Notions

Have fun and I hope you have a chance to play~Chatty Kathy
